The Last Time We Spoke: When we ran into each other on a street corner in Austin TX, at SXSW.

When I Called Today: I know Nick thru the Tiny Giant Artist Collective, via his now former band, Escape Directors. We chatted about the demise of the group, and what he is up to now, filming weddings and making music videos. Nick said the band ceased because they didn’t love doing it anymore. I told him thats the time to stop… you should always ask yourself, “if i look back on my life when im dying, am I going to be happy that i tried to do what i loved, or will i be happier settling for something less?” Nick agreed with this statement and said it sums up why they stopped. We wished each other luck and got off the phone.

The Last Time We Spoke: Approx 5 years ago, if not more. 

When I Called Today: This was an extremely odd coincidence, please try to follow. I called and Felix answered, but his accent was a lot thicker than I remembered. He couldn’t remember who I was, so i named our mutual friend Eric to jog his memory. Felix said “yea i know Eric, did I drive you somewhere before with him?” and that just sounded totally bizarre to me, because Felix definitely would remember me, because for a long time we didn’t get along, and why would he simply mention driving me somewhere when we have hung out a number of times? At this point I stopped trying to remind him of who I was and began trying to figure out what was going on here. Turns out, this is an entirely different Felix than the one I was expecting. The Felix I knew changed his number at some point and a completely different Felix ended up with his number, completely by chance. HOW WEIRD IS THAT?! Anyway, I told this Felix about the blog, and he seemed concerned with one thing, and that was offering me an affordable price on a limo when I need it. I told him I probably couldn’t afford it and then he said “this is Affordable Limo Service, in Edison, you can afford us”. I thanked him and told him I would talk to him next time I need a limo.

The Verdict: I couldn’t have made this up if I had tried.
